Second workday at Gituamba

Today was our second day out at the Gituamba community doing construction work. We had activities going on all around the school campus, where school was in session. A lot of the classes were busy, taking exams, but we were able to interact with the kids quite a bit out on the playground. It was a great day for all with all the personal interaction and with construction work. Portions of our team worked on continuing fabrication of the wooden components for desk chairs that are being made, and quite a few team members and SWOK students worked on preparation of coated insulated ceiling panels to go in the classrooms for heat and sound reduction. Another portion of the crew worked on completing the desktops for the student desks. It was an awesome day where we could see God's hand at work building relationships and being blessed to have fellowship working together and enjoying each other's company. The children in the school just thrive on the opportunity to interact with our team. The following is a photo dump that gives a random accumulation of pictures from various team members and gives you a tiny glimpse of the level of fun that we had today!

I also wanted to display here a few pictures of the completed science laboratory that our teams have had a part in constructing over the last four years. We have been involved in many of the aspects of its construction, including foundation and concrete work, terrazzo floors, and supplying materials for the plumbing and gas piping installation. It is now completed and ready to be put into service. It is state-of-the-art and unequalled in Kenya, even on the university level.
