Almost there!
As I write this, we're 645 miles and an hour and 20 minutes from Nairobi. We got a very late start out of JFK because of all the nasty weather yesterday in the northeast. We got to JFK Monday with plenty of time for our scheduled 8:00 pm flight with no issues on our bus ride, but the torrential rains in the early evening resulted in our incoming flight needing to divert to Boston to wait for better weather in New York. We finally got off the ground at 4:30 this morning (Tuesday), 8 and a half hours late. So although we should have arrived at 5:00 local time, it will be nearly 2:00 am when we arrive which puts us at our hotel around 4:00 am after the fun of going through immigration and customs. Your prayers are appreciated for that process, which is always challenging to get through without paying exorbitant fees for the goods and equipment we're transporting for our work, primarily the vision clinics. While your praying for us, please add: "a good night's sleep for our Team, a safe four + hour ride to our Nakuru base tomorrow, and a healthy and rested Team as we prepare for our first vision clinic" (anticipated to be on Thursday unless our late arrival necessitates moving things back a day). We'll see, and I'll keep you posted.
Have a wonderful experience!
